Yesterday Gwilym was out and about on the southern part of Dartmoor conducting a Gold NNAS assessment. He had a very nice day out with a couple of keen candidates in dry conditions. At least dry from above, it was definitely wet underfoot.
Gwilym has just got back from a great day in Princetown running a NNAS Tutors Course for 3 experienced Mountain Leaders who will be running NNAS navigation courses. With loads covered both inside and out, all three have gone away with some new ideas to play with over the next few weeks. Even the rain stopped so they didn't get too wet outside
For the last 3 days, Gwilym and Mark have been on Exmoor with 7 candidates for a Hill and Moorland Leader Training course. With a combination of hot Sun and a late even lightning storm they managed to complete lots of navigation and leadership training in one of the best moorland locations in the UK.
This week Crys has been delivering a RLSS National Pool Lifeguard Qualification course for In2action at the Urban Saints Westbrook centre in Ryde on the Isle of Wight. The group of seven students are holiday activity instructors who were training for an additional qualification as a pool lifeguard. We're pleased to report that all seven were successfully awarded the qualification and less than 48 hours later are already out in resort both in the UK and abroad, ready to utilise their new skills. Congratulations!
This weekend Gwilym was on The North Wessex Downs with 3 school teachers who were being assessed for their Lowland Leader award ready for the upcoming DofE season. One hot and sunny day followed by one wet and breezy day saw the candidates put through their paces with navigation, knowledge and leadership tasks before finally getting their results over a drink. 3 out of 3. Well done
This week, Gwilym, Stu and Dewi have been running a Mountain Leader Training course for 10 candidates in Snowdonia. This weekend Gwilym has been on The Quantock Hills and the Steart Marshes running a Lowland Leader Training course for 6 candidates. This week Gwilym has spent a morning looking at options for abseiling from a building, an afternoon of Low Ropes assessments and some staff training in canoes and kayaks on the canal.

Yesterday and Today, Mark was out with 6 Bridgwater and Taunton College students delivering a Lowland Leader Training on our behalf. A day on The Quantock Hills and a day on the Somerset Levels gave loads of opportunity for teaching. Thanks also to Robin who was along to observe and help out
Yesterday and today, Gwilym has been in Snowdonia with Long Term Development Client Andy who is preparing for his Mountain Leader Assessment. Some time playing with ropes, navigating in the dark and a day out near Crimpiau saw them avoid the worst of the weather and get lots of time in revisiting essential Mountain Leader skills
Our next open course is the 2nd of March in Princetown or we can run these on demand for groups of 4 or more at your own location.
This weekend, Gwilym has been on Exmoor for a one to one 3 Star Training course. Some high river levels on Saturday saw us at Wimbleball Lake before getting on the river on Sunday for some fun on moving water.
Well done to Max and will be good to see you back for assessment in the New Year
Last week, Gwilym was directing a Mountain Leader Assessment whilst Simon was directing a Mountain Leader Training in Snowdonia (North Wales). Jake, Stu and Dewi were working as additonal course staff. A week of mixed weather (grim through to very pleasant) and we used venues in Llanberis Pass, The Glyders, The Carneddau and The Molewyns.
We are pleased to report that Beth, one of our long term clients passed the assessment but as we have now lost her as a long term client, we have now added her to our freelance list. Well done Beth.
Gwilym has just finished running some Mountain Leader re-assessments and we are pleased to report that both candidates passed. Well done Matt and Jamie who both appear in the photo on the back our our van.
Simon and Stu have just started running the Mountain Leader Training course that we have 9 candidates on and Jacob will be joining Gwilym tomorrow to start a full assessment of 8. It is looking like a busy week. Let's hope the weather is not too unkind.
After our post back in September we have moved forward with reducing our Carbon Footprint. The new van has been with us since mid Sept and we are already getting MPG in the top 50's on long runs so much better than the last van.
We have had a lot of support for this move and our attempt to become as environmentally responsible as we can
It has just come back from Image Sign Solutions who are our go to people for sign writing our vehicles.
If you see the van out and about, then give us a wave. We will be in Snowdonia later this month.
